Taddese T. Desta, Physician

Dr. Taddese T. Desta—born and raised in Ethiopia and a dedicated, highly recognized and honored member of the medical profession—joins others from Ethiopia who demonstrate that one can succeed in life with "determination, hard work, and a little good luck."
Knowing that it hasn't been easy but having proven that progress is pos­sible, Dr. Desta adds: "If I make it, so do you," a kind of double message recognizing that every Ethiopian who advances is an improvement for Ethiopia, and also a lesson that others, too, can make gains.
